Exhbition at Cité des Artes, Paris(2000)

Trudi had to plan very carefully for this exhibition. She had selected relatively small works made with light-weight materials to take along to Paris, carrying them in a round canvas container over her shoulder rather than risk checking them in at the airport. Before the exhibition she lived at the Cité, where she framed the pieces with wooden slats above and below the artworks. This meant they could be hung easily and appear earthbound, indicating that their origin was in Namibia.

The Director of the Cité, Madame Simone Brunau, was extremely kind to Trudi, allowing her to use the main exhibition area in the entrance hall. This was the only space where opening ceremonies took place.
